Trango Vergo

The Vergo is a mechanically assisted-braking device from Trango; it weighs 195 g and lowering is controlled with a lever. Rated for single ropes from 8.9 to 10.7 mm, with one rope slot. It rappels on a single strand.

Trango's assisted-braking belay device for single ropes of 8.9 to 10.7 mm, designed around ergonomics: the rope is fed horizontally, and Trango states there is never a need to override the device, even when feeding slack for a clip. Physical and visual indicators confirm correct loading, and a lowering handle controls the descent; the manual allows descending on a single strand of fixed rope. 195 g; EN 15151-1 (CE 0321).
