Simond Vertika Soft

Simond

The softer, more sensitive shoe in Decathlon's Simond Vertika line, made for climbers stepping up their technical game. A low-profile, lightly cambered and slightly asymmetric last with flat seams and breathable mesh gives sensitivity and precision while staying forgiving of mistakes. A sticky Vibram XS Grip sole wraps onto the toe and heel for hooking. Single velcro strap, fully synthetic and vegan.

Best For

Best for sport climbing and bouldering on vertical and overhang terrain. Aimed at intermediate climbers.

Strengths & Trade-offs

Strengths

  • Soft and sensitive for technical footwork while staying forgiving
  • Low-profile last with toe and heel rubber for hooking
  • Sticky Vibram XS Grip rubber
  • Resoleable, fully synthetic and vegan

Trade-offs

  • Soft build offers limited support on long or vertical routes
  • Less precise on tiny edges than a stiff performance shoe
  • Single strap gives less fine fit adjustment than laces

Sizing & Fit

Performance-comfort fit; the synthetic upper barely stretches. Size snug but not painful for sensitivity.

Fit profile: medium width, standard forefoot volume, medium heel.

No stretch expected; minimal break-in; manufacturer suggests downsizing 0.5-2 EU from street size.

Stiffness

Measured stiffness: 0.30 on our 0-1 scale (0 = softest). Among slightly downturned shoes it sits between the Ocun Havoc (0.26, softer) and the Tenaya Tanta (0.36, stiffer).
