Butora Advance
Butora
An all-around lace-up trainer aimed at long gym sessions and multi-pitch days rather than hard single moves. It pairs a flat, low-asymmetry last with a full-length ABS midsole for support and standing on small edges, a breathable knit upper with an anti-microbial microfiber lining, and a 4 mm NEO rubber sole tuned for friction and durability. A comfort-and-support shoe, not a steep-terrain performer.
Best For
Best for sport climbing and trad multipitch on slab and vertical terrain. Aimed at beginner to intermediate climbers.
Strengths & Trade-offs
Strengths
- Full-length ABS midsole supports the foot on small edges and long routes
- Breathable knit upper stays comfortable through long gym sessions
- Flat, low-asymmetry last suits beginners and all-day wear
- Lace closure tunes fit across the whole foot
Trade-offs
- Flat profile and soft friction give up grip on steep, overhanging terrain
- No toe-hook patch, so it is not built for modern bouldering
- Less precise than a tight synthetic or leather performance shoe
Sizing & Fit
Comfort-oriented asymmetric last that follows the natural foot shape. The knit upper stretches minimally, so size close to street size for an all-day fit, or slightly down for more support.
Fit profile: medium width, standard forefoot volume, medium heel, suits egyptian toe shapes.
Minimal stretch expected; minimal break-in.
Stiffness
Measured stiffness: 0.62 on our 0-1 scale (0 = softest). Among flat shoes it sits between the Scarpa Reflex VS (0.60, softer) and the Scarpa Velocity (0.70, stiffer).
